Maybe violin is hard?

E2 and her teacher spent 5 minutes this afternoon on the topic of how an single F# can either be in tune with the D below or the A above, but not both. There are two different F#s that tune to A and D. And if you are playing a rising triad which version of F# you should tune?

I recall that as I play in D major on the piano tonight and don’t think about those details. (I do notice the piano needs to be tuned.)

Then again, I’m playing a lot more notes at the same time. So maybe the violinist are just making it harder on purpose so they feel better. Ha.
